Aircraft Maintenance Technician Jobs in the Northeastern United States

The Wiggins team needs aircraft maintenance technicians, 1 to 5 years of experience with Wiggins fleet types: Beechcraft 99 and Cessna 208 series aircraft is preferred. Applicants may also have experience with PT6A, PW118, and TPE331 series powerplants.

With bases throughout the Northeastern United States, you can earn that invaluable hands-on experience in the area of your choice. Wiggins also provides opportunities for advancement that ensure you will come to understand the full scope of airplane mechanics.

We are specifically looking for mechanics who have experience with at least one of the following types of equipment and their engines:

  • Cessna 208
  • Beech 99

In addition, we have at times a need for sheet metal/structures specialists and avionics bench/installation techs.

What You Need To Know About Our Airline Mechanic Positions

The Wiggins’ team of technicians are expected to perform all maintenance on aircrafts in accordance to company policy, manufacturer’s recommendations, and Federal Aviation Regulations. Other basic duties include inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs, minor maintenance on equipment as needed.

Ideal candidates must hold a valid FAA Aircraft Mechanic certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings, must be at least 18 years of age, and eligible to work in the U.S.

Airframe & Powerplant Technician Position Requirements:

Wiggins applicants must also meet physical requirements; must be willing and able to travel and occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs. A&P Technicians may travel for training purposes, to repair in the field, and provide temporary support at any of our other bases. Work conditions may include close proximity to moving aircrafts and machinery.

Wiggins is a firm believer in the benefits of on-the-job training. Our in-house maintenance training department is thorough and hands-on, allowing mechanics with little or no experience on our aircraft to become experts in no time. While experience is valued at Wiggins, we know that every maintenance technician has to start somewhere. In fact, we have helper positions for mechanics that are still in A&P school for that very reason.

  • FAA mechanic’s certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to communicate effectively with verbal and written skills, including the ability to interpret documents such as safety guidelines and operating manuals
  • Ability to complete basic math tasks
  • Professional appearance in compliance with the Wiggins Employee Handbook
  • Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screening and other required background checks 
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Perform all manner of maintenance on Wiggins aircraft: C208, BE99.
  • Maintain and service Airframe systems (landing gear system, MLG strut, repack landing gear strut, hydraulics, O2, electrical, pneumatic boot, flight control cable, etc.)
  • Maintain and service Powerplant systems (engine replacement, engine rigging PT-6, propeller, starter generator replacement, etc.)
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks      
  • Ability to work in a potentially noisy environment
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and aircraft
  • Sign-off on the maintenance actions that are taken using your mechanic’s certificate
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned
